About this cartoon: The rich get richer (accumulating most of the wealth of the past 30 years), the middle class gets nowhere (wages are stagnant, and buying power has slipped), and this overall trend started with the tax cuts for the wealthy and trickle-down economics policies championed by the Reagan Administration, accelerated under the two Bush presidencies. Reagan’s depiction of a “shining city” on a hill takes on new meaning here.
